Good day all, Today’s hymn testimony has the theme “Unshaken Faith” and its based on Hymn 446, Sefefo Sa Moea, from Difela Tsa Sione.
Many of us know that the above hymn is based on the scripture found in the Gospel of (*)Mark 4:35-41;
stanza 1 of the hymn is as follows:
“Ultoa sefefo sa moea,
le ho duma ha sona! *(verse 37)
Tsoha, re se re timela; *(verse 38)
Re pholose, Morena!
Jo dillo ha di mo tsose;
O sa ntse a robetse,
‘Me sekepe se tebile;
Jeso utloa thapelo!
A khalemela leoatle kutsa hle! *(verse 39)
Sefefo sa ba sa thola.
Khothalang! A khalemela leoatle
Ruri, Jesu ke Morena,
Khothalang!” *(verse 41)
However, I would like to point you to Psalm 125, you may read it in its entirety, I would like us to focus on verse 1 & 2which read as follows:
“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures for ever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and for evermore.”
Another powerful scripture that encourages us to have unwavering faith is Psalm 91. I encourage you to read it in full…verse 7 says “A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.”
From the above evidence I am reminded of the Gospel according to John chapter 16 v33 : “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
My brothers and sisters, I urge you to trust in the Lord your God at all times, whatever your circumstance, whatever the situation you may be facing, say boldy that you shall overcome it. The word of the Lord is true today as it was true when He told the prophet Zechariah in chapter 4v6 “So He said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty” ”
Never give up! Arm yourself with confidence and be encouraged always. Please read James 1:1-18 and Joshua 1: 1-9.
We must continually renew our spirit with both scripture and hymns. Let your faith be unshaken, its not size that matters, it’s the hope you have in your faith. Jesus Christ once said that faith, as small as a mustard seed can move mountains. Let each of us carry our yoke faithfully and trust that the Lord our God will deliver us always.
Hymn 446, tells a beautiful story, of which I hope to translate soon. God be with you all and may His works in your life always leave you in AWE of Him.
