Keep pressing on – The devil is a liar!!!

Good day, the theme of this Hymn Testimony is “Keep pressing on – The devil is a liar!” It wraps around Hymn 358 from the Difela Tsa Sione Hymn book.

When you are crying and in need of help, you can ask a lot of people and then feel down and depressed that none is helping you in the way which you feel you need to be helped, however, when you remember to call on the name of the Lord and through His mercy, He helps you, you start of as being grateful then you quickly forget the grace that is upon you and you start complaining about why you had to struggle for so long? Why couldn’t God help you initially? and save you from all the trouble of running around Do not ruin your blessing with curses of ungratefulness, thank the Lord for at the time He had set, He came and rescued you after you called on His name.

God is always at your right hand, give Him something to work with; For God has the ability to make it multiply, remember the disciples gave Jesus five loaves of bread and two fish (Mathew 14:17), out of which Jesus was able to feed more than five thousand men besides women and children (Mathew 14:21).

The saying: ‘Do your best and leave the rest to God.’ is mighty and loaded in that, it tells you to do your part but have faith that God will make it worthwhile. We often say ‘Not by might, nor by power but by the spirit of God’, however we rely a lot on our own strength and feel defeated when we fail, forgetting that victory belongs to God alone.

Whatever the situation you are facing right now, it could be work related, or perhaps it could be your studies or maybe your relationship with your loved ones; It could be the passing on of someone dear to you or a family member who is ill, I pray that you Call on the name of the Lord God, ask for His intervention and wait.

‘He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”‘ – Psalm 46:10

‘Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.’ – Psalm 27:14

‘Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.’ – Ephesians 6:13

God be with you all my brothers and sisters, never give up, for the devil is a liar. He will stop at nothing to bring you down, stay determined and encouraged, draw strength from the comfort God gave to Joshua:

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

“A song of ascents. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. The challenges you face are to test that your faith is genuine and it is through perseverance that your faith will grow strong.” – Psalm 125:1

“These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold–though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honour on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.” – 1 Peter 1:7

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.” – James 1:2-8

I would like to end of with hymn 358 from the Difela Tsa Sione Hymn Book, it talks about keeping your faith and trust in God through unfavourable conditions.

U nkise qhobosheaneng,
Hole le boitšepo,
U nkise, ke tšabele teng,
Hole le matšoenyeho!

Stay blessed and may God be your strength.
